Only TAS can suspend a training contract.
During the course of an apprenticeship or traineeship it may be necessary to suspend the training contract for any number of reasons. Suspensions occur for reasons such as non-work related injury or illness of the apprentice (beyond normal sick leave provisions), or personal reasons (such as travel overseas or birth of a child).
Your reasons for a suspension might include a downturn in work or the relocation of the business premises.
If you think you need a suspension for reasons of serious and wilful misconduct, see serious and wilful misconduct.
To apply to suspend your training contract, download the suspension application form (PDF). It needs to be completed and sent to TAS for assessment and approval using the fax, email or postal address on the form.
Once approved, you will be notified of the decision in writing.
