    Workshop Description: This workshop provides a foundation for new VET practitioners working with training packages. It focuses on the connection between quality training and assessment practice and regulatory standards.

    A training package is a set of nationally endorsed standards and qualifications used to recognise and assess people’s skills in a specific industry, industry sector or enterprise.

    Benefits and learning outcomes include:

    Introduction and awareness of:

    Training packages;
    Sections of a training package;
    Using the training package.  
    Cases for endorsement cycle and continuous improvement process;
    AQF codes and level descriptors;
    Units of competency and their delivery and assessment requirements
    Qualification requirements;
    Codes and the AQF level descriptions;
    Individual units of competency, to aid the planning of delivery and assessment;

    Relationship between the qualification and its industry outcome.
