Beauty (IPL and Laser) project

The Graduate Certificate in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser Hair Reduction (LHR) outlines national standards for skills development and reflects the role of therapists who use IPL and laser to remove unwanted hair from the body.

Through continued technological advancements and increased access to machinery, such treatments are now prevalent in the beauty industry.

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is currently considering regulating the use of IPL and laser for cosmetic purposes. This process postponed the review of the Graduate Certificate in Intense Pulsed Light.

The review addresses:

  • 1 qualification
  • 4 units of competency
