Guide to terms used in the Subsidised Training List (STL).

Allocated places

  • - (Dash) - no Training Accounts may be created for new students.
  • Unlimited - Training Accounts can be established on-demand where course conditions (i.e. Training Contract Only) are met if the course is on the Training Provider’s Schedule.
  • Non-TAFE SA Places -  the number next to each course (if any) will reflect the number of Training Accounts available to Non-TAFE SA Training Providers.
  • TAFE SA Places - the number next to each course (if any) will reflect the number of Training Accounts available to TAFE SA.
  • Places & ASBA & TGSS – The training allocation for ASBA & TGSS students is in addition to any identified training places. Training Accounts may be created on demand for eligible students who have an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA) or who are undertaking Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS).
  • Quotas & SSA Quotas - The training allocation for Quotas is in addition to any identified training places. Training Accounts may be created under approved submission-based allocations for either Qualification Quotas or Skilling South Australia (SSA) Quotas. For more information, see Skilling South Australia Quotas.
  • See "Course Code" - indicates a course is superseded, and the allocated places on the current version are shared between both versions of the course.

Course conditions

  • Foundation Skills - courses determined by the Minister, from time to time, to be Foundation Skills courses. Foundation Skills courses help people develop their reading, writing and numeracy skills and prepare for vocational study.
  • Non TAFE SA - TGSS Enrolments - approved Non-TAFE SA Training Providers may create Training Accounts in these courses for school enrolled students who have an approved TGSS or ASBA arrangement in place.
  • School Based Training Contracts - The training allocation for ASBA & TGSS students is in addition to any identified training places. Training Accounts may be created for eligible students on an on-demand basis who either have an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA) or who are undertaking Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS).
  • Submission Based Application - courses that are available through submission-based project or quota applications such as Skilling South Australian Projects/Quotas 2018-19 or Qualification Projects 2019-18. For more information see Apply for WorkReady funding.
  • TAFE SA Only - subsidised training places are only available through TAFE SA.
  • TGSS Approved -  identifies the course is available to be delivered under TGSS arrangements.
  • TGSS Enrolments -  Training Accounts may be created for school enrolled students (16 and above) undertaking TGSS arrangements.  When this is the only condition present on a course, Training Accounts may only be created through TGSS
  • Training Contract - identifies the course is available where training is through a Training Contract, including under ASBA arrangements. When this is the only condition present on a course, Training Accounts may only be created as part of a Training Contract arrangement

No New Enrolments

  • No New Enrolments (Superseded) – represents the end of the period in which all students’ training and assessment must be completed and the relevant certification documentation issued; or students are transferred to the replacement course. This is usually 12 months from the date the superseded course was replaced on the national register (training.gov.au) unless specified otherwise by ASQA. Training Providers cannot create training accounts after the No New Enrolments date.
  • No New Enrolments (WorkReady) – represents a WorkReady No New Enrolment date. Training Providers cannot create training accounts after this date.
