For employers, ACAPs, training providers, GTOs and learners
About mySkillsSA
mySkillsSA is an integrated skills solution that provides one connected system to support vocational education and training in South Australia. This innovative, new cloud-based solution provides an end-to-end experience for over 250 training providers, 12,000+ employers of trainees and apprentices, 22,000 trainees and apprentices and over 100,000 active students.
There are a number of differences between ATLAS and mySkillsSA, including:
- Improved experience and digital-first approach makes it even easier for employers to start applications and manage traineeships and apprenticeships.
- Contextualised experience for training providers, ACAPs and employers. Depending on the role signed in, mySkillsSA provides a unique experience that supports the relevant actions and focus.
- Improved and secure login experience makes it even easier for training providers and employers to login, start applications and manage traineeships and apprenticeships.
- For training providers, simplified nomination acceptance process.
As a South Australian Government organisation, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data security.
All data is securely stored within Statenet, the South Australian Government’s cyber-approved platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure. This includes both existing data from ATLAS and new data from mySkillsSA, which are encrypted both at rest and in transit—ensuring robust protection at every stage
When ATLAS was decommissioned, all integrations were terminated, portal access removed, and the data was retired. A read-only offline backup is securely retained within the Azure Data Lake, in accordance with government cyber security protocols.
Accessing mySkillsSA
On Tuesday 5 August 2025 mySkillsSA went live, initially replacing ATLAS. There are three phases of work scheduled to be rolled out.
Employers of trainees or apprentices, Apprentice Connect Australia Providers and training providers were the first to access the new system, providing an improved experience for traineeship and apprenticeship management in South Australia.
Trainees, apprentices, parents and guardians gained access to mySkillsSA on Thursday 5 March 2026.
Every person accessing mySkillsSA will need to sign up.
Employers of trainees and apprentices
If you’re exploring registering as a new employer of trainees or apprentices you can sign up today using your ABN details. You will need to complete an employer registration application.
Already registered? If your organisation had an admin user in ATLAS, this person will become your admin in mySkillsSA and can sign up and manage users for your organisation. Anyone with access to ATLAS should have access to mySkillsSA so long as your email was correct. If you’re not sure or your organisation does not have a current admin user, you will need to request access from the South Australian Skills Commission.
Trainees and apprentices
New or existing trainees or apprentices can sign up to mySkillsSA using the email they provided when creating their training contract. Parents or guardians of learners under 18 can also create a mySkillsSA account.
Training providers and Apprentice Connect Australia Providers
If someone within your organisation requires access, your admin user can provide access. If you’re not sure who the admin user is for your organisation, contact the South Australian Skills Commission.
Mostly, but not always.
Your organisation contacts
ATLAS is a system that has been around for over 12 years. This means that the quality of the data being transitioned may need some cleaning up. The information you see in mySkillsSA may look different to what was shown in ATLAS. The good news however is that we have built mySkillsSA with the capability for your admin users to update your contacts directly, with no need to contact the Skills Commission.
Existing traineeships or apprenticeships (training contracts)
Any traineeships or apprenticeships connected to your organisation in ATLAS will continue to be connected in mySkillsSA. For employers
Your registration details have also been transferred to mySkillsSA.
There are many scenarios that may be stopping you from accessing mySkillsSA. For example, if we have two people on file with the same email, or your user information did not transition across to the new system.
There are two ways that you can gain access to mySkillsSA, including:
- your organisation’s admin user authorises your access in mySkillsSA
- the Skills Commission authorises your access when you complete the request access form or contact the team.
In mySkillsSA you will no longer require a password to access the system. You will however need to verify your account each login by grabbing the code from your email.
For users who have access to more than one organisation, you will need to set up a six digit PIN. You will need to save this PIN for future access.
You will not be able to use your existing username details in mySkillsSA. Your email will now be used to sign up and access mySkillsSA.
You should contact the South Australian Skills Commission as soon as possible on 1800 673 097.
