For employers, ACAPs, training providers, GTOs and learners
About mySkillsSA
mySkillsSA is an integrated skills solution that provides one connected system to support vocational education and training in South Australia. This innovative, new cloud-based solution provides an end-to-end experience for over 250 training providers, 12,000+ employers of trainees and apprentices, 22,000 trainees and apprentices and over 100,000 active students.
There are a number of differences between ATLAS and mySkillsSA, including:
- Improved experience and digital-first approach will make it even easier for employers to start applications and manage traineeships and apprenticeships.
- Contextualised experience for training providers, ACAPs and employers. Depending on the role signed in, mySkillsSA will provide a unique experience that supports the relevant actions and focus.
- Improved and secure login experience will make it even easier for training providers and employers to login, start applications and manage traineeships and apprenticeships.
- For training providers, simplified nomination acceptance process.
As a South Australian Government organisation, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data security.
All data is securely stored within Statenet, the South Australian Government’s cyber-approved platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure. This includes both existing data from ATLAS and new data from mySkillsSA, which are encrypted both at rest and in transit—ensuring robust protection at every stage
When ATLAS is decommissioned, all integrations will be terminated, portal access removed, and the data will be retired. A read-only offline backup will be securely retained within the Azure Data Lake, in accordance with government cyber security protocols.
Accessing mySkillsSA
On Tuesday 5 August 2025 mySkillsSA went live, initially replacing ATLAS. There are three phases of work scheduled to be rolled out.
Employers of trainees or apprentices, Apprentice Connect Australia Providers and training providers will be the first to access the new system, providing an improved experience for traineeship and apprenticeship management in South Australia.
Trainees, apprentices, parents and guardians will be the next to gain access.
Every person accessing mySkillsSA will need to sign up.
For current ATLAS users
The same email you used in ATLAS will provide you with access to mySkillsSA. If your email is incorrect, you will not be able to access mySkillsSA and will either:
- need to ask someone within your organisation who is a mySkillsSA admin user to authorise your access, or
- you will need to contact the South Australian Skills Commission or complete the Request access form.
Mostly, but not always.
Your organisation contacts
ATLAS is a system that has been around for over 12 years. This means that the quality of the data being transitioned may need some cleaning up. The information you see in mySkillsSA may look different to what was shown in ATLAS. The good news however is that we have built mySkillsSA with the capability for your admin users to update your contacts directly, with no need to contact the Skills Commission.
Existing traineeships or apprenticeships (training contracts)
Any traineeships or apprenticeships connected to your organisation in ATLAS will continue to be connected in mySkillsSA. For employers
Your registration details have also been transferred to mySkillsSA.
There are many scenarios that may be stopping you from accessing mySkillsSA. For example, if we have two people on file with the same email, or your user information did not transition across to the new system.
There are two ways that you can gain access to mySkillsSA, including:
- your organisation’s admin user authorises your access in mySkillsSA
- the Skills Commission authorises your access when you complete the request access form or contact the team.
In mySkillsSA you will no longer require a password to access the system. You will however need to verify your account each login by grabbing the code from your email.
For users who have access to more than one organisation, you will need to set up a six digit PIN. You will need to save this PIN for future access.
You will not be able to use your existing username details in mySkillsSA. Your email will now be used to sign up and access mySkillsSA.
You should contact the South Australian Skills Commission as soon as possible on 1800 673 097.
Email will be the primary method of notification. We are currently exploring SMS options for mySkillsSA to enhance accessibility and user engagement.
Learning mySkillsSA
You’ll have access to a tailored suite of tools designed to make the shift seamless and straightforward. These resources will include easy-to-access videos that showcase the platform, guide you through system access, and help you manage your tasks with confidence.
As your applications are updated in mySkillsSA, you'll be able to see the changes right away. While some overnight processes between systems still exist, updates to training contracts now happen in real time—no more waiting overnight.
For registered employers, you will need to change your primary contact by choosing ‘Modify’ from the registration page. Under the business details section, update the primary contact information and continue through each screen, checking the information is correct. Once correct and the declaration has been completed, submit your application.
To learn how to complete a modify registration application, access the mySkillsSA toolkit.
For training providers and Apprentice Connect Australia Providers, contact the South Australian Skills Commission to update your primary contact information.
